IMPORTANT NEWS
31/07/2012
After 34 years of supporting organisations in Leeds and providing training for organisations across England, the Board of Trustees has regrettably come to the sad decision to close the doors on Leeds Accommodation Forum (LAF).
Due to an increasingly competitive training market and a loss of council funding, LAF is no longer able to generate the necessary surpluss to fund the social purpose that it was set up to do.
LAF has had an immense impact with the work it has done - in the last 7 years alone we have worked with over 550 organisations and trained over 12,500 people. Since becoming an umbrella body in 2008 we have processed over 1,200 CRB applications. We have seen many changes over the years and we have been quick to react and support organisations, for example when the new Supporting People agenda first arose we ran over 80 courses helping organisations to inform and train their staff in the key issues and methods required.
LAF is not just a training organisation - we have supported service user groups and facilitated forums, represented homeless and supported housing organisations in many different forums and meetings ensuring your issues were on the agenda.ÂÂ
We have produced newsletters, magazines and over 3,000 copies of the LAF Mental Health and Housing Guides are currently circulating the region. We also produced a very popular Directory of Supported Housing Accommodation and kept an up to date on line Directory.
From the Director, trustees and staff past and present, we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our loyal supporters, trainers and partners - it has been a privilege to work with you over the years.ÂÂ
Integrity is important to LAF so to support our customers over the interim period our arrangements until closure are as follows:
- All In House courses that have been arranged will be honoured and delivered with the same care, attention and professionalism that you are used to from LAF.
- All CRB applications will be accepted up until the 17th August 2012 and we will ensure the correct procedures are adhered to in respect of delivery, retention and storage.
- LAF will attend it’s last SPPF on the 20th August 2012
- There will be no further public courses delivered
Enquiries can still be made to
