Leeds Irish Health and Homes launches its new website (www.lihh.org) on Friday 1st August 2003.
The website will become a key medium for us to communicate with the various agencies, statutory and voluntary as well as individuals within the wider community.
In the last year alone we have received over 9000 calls about our service. The majority of these are from current clients but many are from agencies, both statutory and voluntary enquiring about the services we run.
Ant Hanlon, Director, Leeds Irish Health and Homes said: “Although our core services revolve around housing and outreach we have many other groups, advice networks and reports that people can access.
"We are hoping that this website will be a new communication tool for the Irish community in Leeds, as well as the wider community. We anticipate that it will be used by people who need information straight away about all of our services.
"We are particularly pleased with the development of this website as we were unable to secure any funding towards its implementation. We have drawn from expertise within the organisation to push this project forward. We will be adding lots of new pages as the website develops over the next year.
"I would encourage people to log on and check it out. I am sure they will be surprised at how vast our services actually are.”
