LAF training courses have been developed to provide both basic and advanced support for housing support workers. We aim to work in an interesting and participatory way, using consultant trainers who have significant experience in the supported housing sector.
LAF's training courses have been designed to match the skills and experience of supported housing workers. Individuals who are new to the sector or who have recently changed roles, would probably find it helpful to attend one of the "Introduction" training days. These aim to provide workers with a basic grounding in a subject area and do not require previous experience.
Even the most experienced supported housing workers face new challenges and demands. The "Focus" and "Advanced" courses are designed to enhance and refine exisiting skills and require a level of prior experience. These training days are not suitable for those people who are new to the sector.

In-House Training Courses
Organisations wishing to train a number of staff on a particular topic, might find a LAF in-house training course more appropriate. In-house training is specifically tailored to meet the needs of an organisation and is not only available on all of the current LAF training topics, but on many additional topics as well.
In-house training is the most cost effective means of training groups of between six and twelve workers from the same organisation, or where there are several organisations which have common working practices and client groups, and who want to join together for a shared training course.
LAF training covers topics such as Keyworking, Welfare Benefits, Stress Management, Self-harm, Health Risk Management, Drugs, Conflict and Mental Health issues and many others.
