Organisations wishing to train a number of staff on a particular topic, might find a LAF in-house training course more appropriate. In-house training is specifically tailored to meet the needs of an organisation and is not only available on all of the current LAF training topics, but on many additional topics as well. In-house training is the most cost-effective means of training groups of between six and twelve workers from the same organisation, or where there are several organisations which have common working practices and client groups, and who want to join together for a shared training course. We have delivered many courses over the years and have always had highly positive responses from the participants. What are the advantages of in-house training?
What courses does LAF offer? We can provide a wide range of topics grouped into the areas of:
You can search the course directory on the main In-House Training page for a full list of available in-house training courses. Is that all?The above topics are only examples - we have a wider range and can respond efficiently to any non-listed topics through our bank of professional trainers. How much does it cost?In general, we will charge around £770 plus expenses, depending on how much the course has been modified to meet your requirements. The modification will be developed in consultation with yourselves and the trainer. We tend to be fairly flexible about this. The cost is based on up to 12 participants, but we may go up as far as 16 (depending on the trainer and type of course) for an extra £30 per person. An in-house course, taking place at your premises, with at least six people on it can prove extremely cost effective for non-member organisations. If you do not have a suitable venue to hold the course, then we can provide a venue for you, normally at either The West Yorkshire Playhouse or in our own Leeds city centre based Training Suite. There will be an additional cost of £150 a day, which includes tea and coffee in the morning and afternoon. We can also provide lunch for particpants if required, either at a local restaurant or as a buffet lunch in the training room if preferred, again at extra cost. Once all the course details have been finalised we will send you a contract, giving our terms, for signing. How long are the days?Courses normally will be from 10:00am to 4:00pm. A lunch break is factored into the day, and you will provide lunch for the participants, if needed. If necessary we can extend the training day by approximately an hour, if modifications to the course design necessitate it, but we will negotiate a higher fee in these circumstances. Who are your trainers? Our group of trainers has been selected for their wide-ranging experience and expertise in the field of supported housing. Many started as Housing Support workers and ended up managing large projects. This means that they have a wealth of practical experience and have encountered most of the problems that are likely to be raised, allowing participants to gain extra benefit from the answers. What do we need to provide before the course? Some time before the start of the course we like to get lists of names of participants and some idea of their experience so that the trainer can target the information more accurately. We will also need all of the practical information regarding the venue, such as directions. SummaryWhat we will do for you
