About the course
Older people face constant pressures about coping with their rising day-to-day bills, or severe pressures at times of risk or vulnerability. Older people also have access to a wide range of entitlements to benefits, credits, allowances and safeguards. Yet these are often neglected, bringing unnecessarily harsh conditions for many older people. This course aims to bring you fully up to date with all key entitlements for older people - considering those who have reached state retirement age, and those aged 50+.
There are also important opportunities to be independent and active, without it affecting benefits. The government wants one million older people to work - inside the next decade. And there are new legal protections against discrimination against older people from late 2006. We will address these issues in full throughout the course.
Learning Objectives
