About the course:
Staff meetings or residents' meetings, this day will provide an opportunity to look at what makes meetings work. How can you ensure your meetings serve their purpose, run smoothly and are recorded accurately? We will share some of our own experiences of meetings and consider what it is that makes them a success or a flop! We will be looking at some different methods and the skills required to help make your meetings more effective and even enjoyable.
Who is it for?
This will be a participative day which will be of benefit to staff or managers who are involved in organising and running meetings and would like to make them more productive and successful.
Course Outline:
- Organising meetings - considering the practicalities of organising meetings including publicity - how can we encourage people to attend. Planning the agenda and how the meeting will be run to get the best use of time.
- Running meetings - using the appropriate methods to help ensure meetings serve their purpose. How to apply the skills of chairing, leading, facilitating and participating, and manage conversations in meetings for maximum effectiveness
- Behaviour at meetings - understanding the roles people play and how to deal with difficult behaviour in meetings.
- Recording meetings - looking at minute taking and how to ensure that meetings, discussions, decisions and actions are accurately recorded.
