About the course
This half-day introduction to Safeguarding covers many aspects of Child protection issues and is especially suitable for Housing Support Workers who may have contact with young and very young people, or clients who have children.
It can demonstrate evidence of undertaking an introduction (at Level 1a of the LSCB ratings) prior to attendance at Introduction to Working Together training at level 1b. This introduction is appropriate for the contact staff may have with children and their families
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will:
- Understand the various types of abuse or harm to a child;
- Identify signs of abuse and what to look for;
- Know how to ask questions if you suspect a child is being abused;
- Know what steps you can take if you suspect abuse or harm;
- Understand what happens after a referral to Social Care is made;
- Know what to do if a child or adult discloses abuse;
- Understand the importance of keeping records
