About the Course

Building on Progress: Public Services (2007) described Personalisation as "the process by which services are tailored to the needs and preferences of citizens. The overall vision is that the state should empower citizens to shape their own lives and the services they receive". This course will raise awareness of how provision of health and social care services is to become more service-user focused, with more choice, control and empowerment resting with the people who use services. This half-day session (9.30 - 12.30pm with a 10min break) aims to brief new staff and existing staff, who are working for services that have funding granted to them by the Supporting People programme.
