About the course
This course is of use to anyone involved in working with, or housing, those who have committed offences involving sexual acts. It will focus on risks to children and will be of particular use to those who are involved in some way in housing this specific service user category. It includes issues that will be of relevance to managers, full and part-time staff and volunteers.

- The 1989 Children Act
- Why it is important to have a Child Protection Policy (even if you don't work with children)
- An up-to-date list of the new classifications for sexual offences
- Keyworking and service users who are a risk to children
- Equal opportunities issues
- An exploration of some of the more "classic" concerns with the aid of case studies
- Exactly what to do if you are concerned
- Staff support issues
- Evaluation
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course participants will:
- a better understanding of procedural issues
- clarity on some of the more common concerns
- understanding of what an organisation can (and should) do
- knowledge of how to protect themselves and the organisation
